We thought you might enjoy some inside details of special interest about Terri's new album...
Song #1 - I Want to Spend Christmas with You - The delightful lead guitar in this song is played by one of Terri's former students, Travis Annan. He is a 17-year old senior in high school and a whiz on the guitar! The nice tenor harmonies were sung by Terri's friend and neighbor who is also a recording artist, John Waters. And that other voice in there which sounds like---CAN IT BE---ELVIS??!! That deep, resonant voice in the background, near the end of the song, singing the "WITH YOUS," is none other than Terri's oldest son, Drew. He is seventeen and also a senior this year. Song #2 - It Is a Mystery - This song was not only written by Terri, she also did all of the production work and recording, including all the vocals, the guitar-playing & synthesizer---even the drums! (Sort of like the story of the Little Red Hen, isn't it?) Download this sample. It Is A Mystery (MP3) (1.2 MB)
Song #3 - Angels We Have Heard on High - Want to know a little secret? This one is Terri's least favorite song on the project. The reason? Because there was a spare unison vocal track that was not shut off as it should have been while she was mixing down this final song. In her rush to meet the deadline this was not detected until the final master had already been sent off. This vocal is slightly "off," but more noticeable to some of us than others. If you like the drums on this song it is because they were done by a real drummer, Roger Resler!!
Song #6 - Light of the World - Terri's daughter, Jill, helped with the background harmonies in this song.
Song #7 - Deck the Halls - For several years now, Terri has sung a special concert at her bank for their annual open house. Each year she is challenged to be creative on her arrangements of traditional carols---and this is definitely a rendition of Deck the Halls like none you've heard before! The drum artistry in this song was done by Roger Resler.
Song #9 - That's What Love Is Worth - Yet another 17-year old young man helped Terri with this project---Ryan McClure sang background vocals in this song, along with friend and neighbor, Dr. Larry Kleiber. Inspiration for the song came to Terri while she was shopping for a coat for her youngest son, Zeb. The warmer coats were the expensive ones and the extra sacrifice reminded her of how God demonstrated His love through His willingness to give us His very best. But you won't find any mention of a coat in the song---Terri wrote about gloves instead, so that she wouldn't give away any secrets before Christmas! Download this sample. Song #10 - Underneath the Tree - This is a story song that really did happen to Terri and her younger sister, Tammy. Got any special memories of your own which you'd like to share with us? We'd love to hear them! Share Your Memories With TerriDownload this sample. Under Neath The Tree (MP3) (1.3 MB)
